Faculty Spotlight - Mr. Bobroski

This year, were are pleased to welcome back to Bishop Carroll, Mr. Jordan Bobroski. Mr. Bobroski is a 2021 graduate of Bishop Carroll. He completed his studies at Saint Francis a semester early and subbed at BC a few times in the spring. Read his story about how things have come full circle for him!

Jordan grew up in Ebensburg and attended Holy Name and then later Bishop Carroll. Following graduation from BC, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from Saint Francis University in December 2024. He was led back to Bishop Carroll because of the atmosphere. He said, “This school is like no other around. I am ecstatic to be back at the school that made me want to become an educator. This is my first year of teaching and it could not be a more perfect start to my career by coming back to my alma mater.”

He truly enjoys teaching history and feels it is an important subject for students to learn. He added, “I began my love for history from Mr. Nagy’s classes throughout high school. During these classes, Mr. Nagy presented information in an engaging way that got me hooked into loving history. I continuously find myself intrigued to continue deepening my knowledge in history by reading books and traveling to different historical locations.” In recent months, he has visited Harper’s Ferry, Antietam, Fort Necessity, and more. He believes students should learn the subject because history is all around us and there are many avenues in the field of social studies for a career. He also wants students to become informed, engaged citizens and make sure that they vote!

He differentiates his teaching based on how his students in his classes learn information as well as finding ways to keep them engaged in the subject matter. He teaches sophomore World History and junior U.S. History. In World History, he recently had the students complete different activities based on the the civilizations that have been discussing. In U.S. history, students learned about 9/11 and had to interview someone who could recall events from the day. These are just a few of the many projects and topics that have worked on and discussed in class. Jordan said, “I am constantly coming up with new ideas for topics that engage all students and try to bring history to life.”

Mr. Bobroski looks forward to coming in to school every day and doing what he enjoys most - teaching history!

His goals include continually developing professionally throughout his first year of teaching. He added, “Overall, I want students to enjoy learning about history. Bishop Carroll gives me many opportunities to be an advocate for students, and I want to continue being a guide and mentor for students throughout high school.” Outside of the classroom, he has begun helping students in the weight room after school, which is another one of his passions.

He cannot say enough good things about his experience and the school that he loves. Jordan said, “It is awesome that I get to teach alongside those who inspired me to become a teacher. Bishop Carroll is an incredible school, as you do not find many schools that have a fully connected community like Bishop Carroll does. I am blessed to be back here and was amazed by how welcoming both staff and students were to me at the beginning of the year. I ask for your prayers to bless this school year as I continue my first year of teaching.”

We are so proud of Jordan and are thrilled that he has come back to BC to teach and to help in so many ways. You will see him involved in many activities and events outside of school. Mr. Bobroski is truly a rising star at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School!
