Jacob Harker Signs Letter of Intent with Waynesburg University

Bishop Carroll Catholic High School senior Jacob Harker signed his letter of intent to participate in Track and Field at Waynesburg University.  Jacob has been a standout athlete during his years at Bishop Carroll.

During the fall football season, Jacob sustained a horrific knee injury.  His hard work and quick recovery allowed him to participate in track and field during his senior year spring season.

Jacob commented, “First, I want to thank God for the opportunities he has given me in academics and athletics.  Thank you to Bishop Carroll for the 4 great years of continuously pushing me to be the best student-athlete that I can be.  It means a lot that I am going to be able to continue my studies to pursue a career while being able to do the sport I love.  I am grateful for this opportunity Waynesburg has given me and I cannot wait to start track and field at the next level.”

Head of School Stephen Cotchen added, “I could not be any prouder of Jacob and his accomplishments.  It takes great willpower to overcome the injury he sustained and to come out the other side stronger.  He has been a great asset to Bishop Carroll in the classroom and on the field and we all look forward to his future successes.”

Jacob was joined in the signing by his grandparents (seated), his parents Joe and Melissa, sisters Melinda and Madilynn, BC assistant AD and track coach Eric Ballarino (left), and BC AD Jim Yeager (right).
