Classroom Upgrades Make a Difference

Recently, several donors and sponsors answered the call to help fund some necessary classroom upgrades including converting chalkboards from the 1950s into state-of-the-art dry erase white boards in seven classrooms. The rooms are brighter, cleaner, and have a fresh look.

Several teachers who have not yet had the upgrades are looking forward to having this done to their rooms as well. Chemistry teacher Mr. John Howard remarked, “I didn’t realize how nice they would be and how much more useful they are instead of the chalkboards. I hope that there are enough donors to help sponsor more classrooms, including mine. Teaching chemistry, it is helpful to be able to write in different colors for the students to see. I hope others feel inspired to donate to this project.”

Next up: teacher laptops and docking stations

The next phase of this project will provide each teacher with a new laptop and a docking station in their classroom. These new laptops will have the up-to-date technology that our teachers need. The docking stations will allow for expanded connectivity to other devices needed for enhanced instruction. This upgrade will help to provide some of the best learning experiences for our students.

Summer renovation plans for important student spaces

The renovations to the classrooms are part of a larger renovation project that is planned for the summer months. Extensive renovations are scheduled to convert the library and computer lab into a media center and a STREAM Lab. In addition, we will refurbish and upgrade the carpeting and lighting in our beautiful chapel.

How you can get involved

More detailed plans for each of those projects will be made available in the near future with information on how you can offer support.

If you would like to find out more information about these projects or make a donation, please contact Business Manager Mrs. Lynn Weber at (814) 472-7500 ext. 107 or email [email protected]. Bishop Carroll relies on the generous support of the community to provide for the needs of our students. It is only through this support are we able to continue to improve our facilities. Thank you to everyone who have contributed to the school and those who continue to do so!
