With the Covid-19 pandemic has come job losses, business closures, event cancellations and extra health and safety measures. All of these issues are impacting Bishop Carroll students and families this year. By establishing a Named Scholarship, you can help provide much-needed tuition assistance to students and allow Bishop Carroll to allocate financial resources in other areas to make sure students continue to thrive. Dedicated exclusively to tuition assistance, Named Scholarships enable Bishop Carroll to help families who might otherwise not be able to afford tuition. More families are seeking financial aid in the coming year due to financial hardships in the wake of Covid-19. By creating a Named Scholarship, you can make sure they still receive the best possible educational experience in a faith-based environment.
Named Scholarships can be created in the name of a donor or donor family, or in honor or memory of an individual or family, named by the donor. This opportunity is open to individual donors, or to families, classes, teams, businesses or groups of friends who want to come together to make a difference for students.
Named Scholarships provide need-based financial aid to students who are currently enrolled.
Donors may request that recipient students meet specific qualifications, such as parish affiliation or performance in an academic subject. Scholarships are not awarded for athletics. Named Scholarships are recognized annually on the Honor Roll of Donors and with a personal acknowledgement from a student recipient.
Many donors who commit to Named Scholarships are alumni who benefited from financial aid when they were students. In their view, this giving opportunity is a way to pay it forward to future generations of students.
“I want to pay back what others gave to me and make sure Bishop Carroll is always an option for any student who wants to attend.”
