Drama Club Brings Cinderella to the Stage


Bishop Carroll’s Drama Club recently presented three performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella to the Bishop Carroll and Ebensburg communities. The 21-student cast brought g a familiar story to life onstage, breathing youthful charm into a classic fairy tale. The musical adaptation followed the same storyline as Walt Disney’s 1950 film, but is an artistic departure.

Annual Retreat Teaches Mercy to Potential BC Students


On Wednesday, February 24th, 7th and 8th graders planning to attend Bishop Carroll Catholic High School gathered for a retreat organized by the high school's religion department and Student Ambassadors.

For over a decade, Bishop Carroll has hosted a Lenten retreat covering an important religious topic in an academic, spiritual, and social setting. The theme of this year’s retreat was selected from Pope Francis's declaration that 2016 is a Jubilee Year of Mercy.

Lady Huskies Take Home District 6 Class A Title

Congratulations to the girls’ basketball team for winning the District 6 Class A Championship, their first title since 2005!

They took home the title after a 59-31 victory over the Blairsville Bobcats. The girls’ hard work all season long has paid off, and they are moving on to PIAA Tournament play set for March 5. Good luck Lady Huskies!

New Athletic Stadium is Officially Open

The Huskies have a new place to call “home.”

The new athletic stadium, which will serve as home to a variety of student athletics, programs, and activities, was completed this fall by a dedicated team of volunteers, led by Bishop Carroll’s Athletic Chair Carol Driskel.

“I met with Joe Skura and Joe Ridgeley early in the spring of 2015 to discuss field issues,” she said. “At one point Joe Ridgeley said he would like us to play on our own field within the next two years, and that’s when the idea took off.”

Alumni Profile: "It Takes a Village..."

Christina Koren '03 had an outstanding experience at Bishop Carroll, which has positively influenced her life after graduation.

"I honestly can say that all my years in Catholic education were a package deal," she said. "Pieces of everyone and every class have impacted me in a positive way."

She currently works as the Executive Director of Mission Integration and Community Engagement at Mount Aloysius, where she has the opportunity to interact with BC students through the inaugural year of a Tri-County Leadership program for high school students—reinforcing the leadership and service skills she herself gained from Bishop Carroll.
